Workshop Interventional Rhinoscopy & Interventional Otoscopy
18 – 19 AUGUST

This course is designed to bring the experienced endoscopist to the next level when performing small animal rhinoscopy, sinoscopy, laryngoscopy, and otoscopy. Registrants will participate in detailed discussions of the indications and techniques for these endoscopies including various interventional procedures at these sites. Multiple hands on practice sessions using rigid endoscopes in dog and cat cadavers.

Masterclass
Interventional Rhinoscopy
18 AUGUST

Interventional Rhinoscopy

Participants will learn the key anatomical structures of the complete nasal-pharyngeal airway, equipment options and scoping techniques for modern exploratory and interventional rhinoscopy. Each participant will perform these procedures under the direct supervision of internationally recognised specialists and experienced assistants.

Explorative Rhinoscopy

Assembling the equipment for anterior and posterior rhinoscopy. Familiarise yourself with the anatomical landmarks required for orientation during rhinoscopy. Comparing essential endoscopic landmarks with essential computed tomographic landmarks. Complete rhinoscopy of the nasal cavity through to the nasal exit. Training to perform rhinoscopy without flushing

Interventional Rhinoscopy

The wide range of interventional procedures is either practised on cadavers or demonstrated step by step in surgical videos. Performing the first steps in interventional rhinoscopy. Removal of debris by suction under visual control. Manipulation of turbinate tissue. Taking reliable tissue biopsies under visual control. Turbinectomy. Ablation of tissue masses. Treatment of obstructions of the nasal exit.

Explorative and interventional Sinoscopy

Endoscopic access to all three paranasal sinuses. Interventions in the paranasal sinuses (e.g. sinonasal aspergillosis or sinonasal tumours).
